22 cups of coffee Satchel

She is one of my favorite – go have a look at her cozy things! There I got the idea and the „berkshire satchel“-pattern for this lovely bag. Not only the pattern – also her words got me hooked, speaking of flower-child and long, flying hair . . .

The satchel is made of 44 granny squares. When you’ve got the knack of it, it is 22 cups of coffee. I started one square – fetched a cup of coffee. Crochet . . . Sip some coffee . . . Second square . . . Crochet . . . Cup is empty, two squares done. And some advice for those with cold coffee, in case you forgot while enjoying crochet: 
Add some vanilla ice cream!

I wove in all ends while crochet the rounds.

I chose this way to join the squares: First join the vertical rows, by adding always four squares (or five) and it will be a kind of net . . .

The inside got an additional pocket. The idea came to me while crochet the grannies: I always had to look out for the tiny pouch that keeps the needle to weave in the ends, the tiny scissors or the hook, that was lost between the balls of yarn. So this satchel has a pocket for it, in case it will guard another handycraft project. – And in case I will go shopping with it, it could keep my key – no searching for it between other stuff!

The pattern originally includes long straps as handles. They may look better and lots more flower-child-ish than this handles. But for me these are more convenient to handle, literally.
Maybe the long straps allow you to dance with hands free, hair flying and cheering over the sparks of the bonfire. Maybe I just have to lay my satchel aside before dancing, waving my hands in the air . . .
